All three volumes of Money Makes the World Go Around have been written in a unique engaging writing style called Faction. No that's not a misprint, it's actually a modern writing style that blends fiction with non fiction. In fact the author deliberately chose to write them in this style as it allowed him to harness the incredible creativity and unrestricted thinking of childrens minds whilst at the same time slowly introducing them to serious concepts.
He likes to call it Surprise Learning! You see, while your kids are enjoying the story and keeping up with the antics of each character they actually don't realise that they are learning the key concepts of money. The author achieves this by embedding the fundamentals of money into the conversation between each of the characters in the books.
In fact he even embedded the National Consumer and Financial Literacy Framework which has been set by the Australian Government Financial Literacy Foundation throughout each of the books. This way the serious messages about money get brought to life in the fun interactive setting of the story.
Mum and Dad you will also be pleased to know that these books also contain what we would like to call the missing key ingredients to today's money morals. Here you will find the underlying themes of charitable behaviour and anti-greed.
Over the three volumes the complexity of the content increases to synchronize with the development of your child so that by the end of Volume 3 they will even know and understand many complex money terms - including the RULE of 72!
Now.
As you are hopefully figuring out by now these books are clearly not your normal money books.
They are packed with not only a quality engaging story line but also interactive on page or internet related challenges that appear frequently in the second and third volumes. With the interactive challenges your children will even receive a personalised email from one if not all of the characters in the books. Again making the learning real and a whole lot of fun.
Money Makes the World Go Around follows the adventures of three very charismatic 10 year olds Anya, Zilly and Lars with the story set in the year 3050. Here our three little heroes are sent on different missions to find the answers to questions that will change the world they live in.
Essentially the story behind these books is that in the year 3050 the world has been taken over by one evil man and he now controls everything and everyone. As a result, he had taken all of the money from the world and dictates where people work, live and play. Hmm...
His deputy however, has other ideas. He wants to return the world to the good old days of the 21st century (ie the present day). But, before he makes his move he must do his homework to find out how money works, how and when it can be used. And so as neither he, nor his staff can go unnoticed by the evil ruler, the deputy leader enlists Anya and her best friends to help. Here he asks them to go on a series of adventures (hence the three books) and to find the answers to a number of questions about money. Throughout their adventures (which include travelling back to the 21st century) Anya and her friends learn by first hand experience.
